Going ahead with proper inquires in Cambodia and in Chennai Animal Welfare Board as the Orangutan is the major part of the film Appu Pappu producer Soundaraya Jagadish has suffered two months of pains when the film was placed before the censor board.
When the inquiry was made at the start, the certificate from Cambodia on animal usage in the cinema is enough said the authorities in Chennai. But when the Bangalore Regional Censor Board saw Appu Pappu, it asked for clearance from Chennai. But when the clearance was sought from Chennai all problems started cropping up.
Producer Soundaraya Jagadish was perplexed when Chennai Animal Welfare Board said the rules have changed and the fresh approval has to be sought from New Delhi. Again we were made to go to Cambodia and get 20 letters ready with the Orangutan doctors signatures, laments the producer.
All these running around have taken two months time and we could not make it to the release at the right time. When so many animals are cut to eat, why is the Animal Welfare Board keeping quiet?, asks Soundaraya Jagadish.
